About the role

The Opportunity:

 

Gemini Water is looking for a dynamic Senior Project Manager who will be accountable for ensuring the successful execution of water and wastewater treatment projects from initiation through completion under the direction of the Director, Systems Integration. This role will be responsible for managing complex water and wastewater system integration projects from concept through design, integration, commissioning and in service support/operations.

 

The Senior Project Manager will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Engineers, designers , technical specialists, contractors, and clients, to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in water and wastewater systems and project execution, combined with exceptional leadership and communication skills.

 

This position plays a critical role in mentoring junior team members, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

 

 Key Job Responsibilities:


  • Lead the execution of water and wastewater treatment projects from planning through commissioning and final turnover.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resource allocation, and deliverables to support successful project execution.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, specialists, contractors, consultants, and vendors, to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Monitor and control project progress and help identify risks, delays, and resource constraints, escalating issues as required.
  • Actively manage project and business risks both qualitatively and quantitatively.
  • Develop and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project schedules, cost estimates, reporting processes, and document control systems.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, supporting communication on project status, milestones, risks, and deliverables.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and progress reviews to ensure construction and installation activities align with design intent and quality standards.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers, project coordinators, and technical staff as required.
  • Participate in project meetings and technical discussions, contributing to problem-solving and decision-making activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards, safety protocols, and client expectations.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

 

Key Qualifications, Education, and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline from an accredited institution is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive project management experience in water/wastewater treatment, industrial automation, or infrastructure projects.
  • Certification as a Project Manager Professional (PMP), or equivalent an asset.
  • Proven experience managing complex engineering and construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and resource management.
  • Demonstrated experience developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project schedules, cost estimating, budget management, reporting, and document control processes.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methodologies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering tools is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience working directly with clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Valid driver’s license, valid US passport, and access to reliable transportation.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required (approximately 10%–15% of the time).
