About the role

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing field data collection to ensure accurate collection of data and mapping
  • Overseeing office efforts to ensure accurate processing and mapping
  • Writing survey reports, control reports, and project deliverables
  • QA/QC of surveying products and data
  • Reviewing field data and office processing, ensuring accuracy requirements are met and coverage of limits is met
  • Discuss with field crew daily to determine the project status and help move the projects along.
  • Ensuring everyone fully understands each scope and project and follows the scope closely. Our project specifications vary greatly depending on project and client, therefore the expectations change.
  • Reviewing mapping and data collected in the field, reviewing previous data, and determining what information needs to be updated or collected based on client’s needs
  • Discussion and meeting with project manager, crew managers, and directors to determine the needs for projects in order to help organize crews
  • Hands-on training with field and office personnel: you will need to go out to the field, or delve into CAD to help train survey technicians for their own professional growth with regard to field and office work

Qualifications

  • 10 years of surveying experience required
  • Professional Surveying license or the ability to obtain licensure within 1 year)
  • Passed the CST or FS exam preferred
  • College degree or certificate in surveying
  • Experience and Education with Total Stations, Digital or automatic Levels, Laser Scanners, and GNSS Systems.
  • Experience in CAD for surveying and mapping
  • Experience in processing of total station, GNSS, and levels, and other surveying data
  • Experience and knowledge of Topographic Surveying and Boundary and Right of Way Investigation.
  • Preference given to individuals interested in continuing education, licensure, and other certifications.
  • Exceptional note and record keeping ability.
  • Ability to produce quality survey products based on sound judgement and professional knowledge
  • Must be able to carry out direction, work with others, and maintain communication with management and crew members throughout the day.
  • Capable of leading and mentoring field and office personnel daily
  • Ability to manage and organize large complex projects with many moving parts and changing requirements.
