Prototype Workshop Technician

<div class="title"> <p>At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers, an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 400 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.</p> <p><strong>Your mission</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Prototype Workshop Technician to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role that combines mechanical and electrical assembly, prototype fabrication, and workshop development. You will support the build and integration of test rigs, sub-systems, and full-scale prototypes as we develop our electric aircraft. You’ll also play a critical role in setting up and maintaining our prototyping workshop, ensuring it is safe, functional, and efficient.</p> <p><strong>Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:</strong></p> <p><strong>Prototype Assembly &amp; Fabrication:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support the assembly of mechanical and electrical components for prototypes and test rigs.</li> <li>Assist with wiring, soldering, crimping, and integration of electrical systems and harnesses.</li> <li>Perform basic machining, 3D printing, and fabrication tasks (e.g., cutting, drilling, and fastening).</li> <li>Collaborate with engineers to build, test, and iterate on functional prototypes.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Workshop Development &amp; Support:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Help set up workshop infrastructure, including tools, benches, safety systems, and inventory.</li> <li>Maintain an organized and well-equipped workshop environment.</li> <li>Manage tool calibration, equipment maintenance, and consumable supplies.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Team Collaboration:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.</li> <li>Provide feedback on design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).</li> </ul> <p data-rx-type="text" data-rx-first-level="true"><strong>You'll Bring These Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul data-rx-type="list" data-rx-focusable="true" data-rx-first-level="true"> <li data-rx-type="listitem">Technical diploma or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronic systems.</li> <li data-rx-type="listitem">3+ years of proven hands-on experience in prototype assembly (mechanical and electrical).</li> <li data-rx-type="listitem">Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.</li> <li data-rx-type="listitem">Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.</li> <li data-rx-type="listitem">Good communication and teamwork skills.</li> </ul> <p data-rx-type="text" data-rx-first-level="true"><strong>These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:</strong></p> <ul data-rx-type="list" data-rx-focusable="true" data-rx-first-level="true"> <li class="" data-rx-type="listitem">Experience in an R&amp;D, aerospace, automotive, or startup environment.</li> <li data-rx-type="listitem">Experience with CAD tools and/or fabrication techniques (e.g., CNC, welding, additive manufacturing).</li> <li data-rx-type="listitem">Familiarity with test instrumentation, DAQ systems, or low-voltage electronics.</li> </ul> </div> <div class="title"><strong>Base Pay Range:&nbsp;</strong></div> <div class="pay-range"><strong>$30/HR<span class="divider">—</span>$45/HR USD</strong></div>
