By combining dignified digital work with frontier AI innovation, Karya hopes to build a new AI economy that is equitable, inclusive, and community-driven.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"></span></p> <h3><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>About the Role</strong></span></h3> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">We are looking for a highly motivated intern to join the Public Policy &amp; Government Engagement team. The role sits at the intersection of AI, public policy, governance, and public-sector innovation.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The intern will work closely on research, analysis, and writing related to AI governance, AI adoption, digital public infrastructure, government technology initiatives, and opportunities for deploying AI in public service delivery.&nbsp;</span></p> <h3><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Conduct research on AI governance, AI regulation, responsible AI, and emerging technology policy developments in India and globally.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Track policy developments across central ministries, state governments, regulatory bodies, and international organizations.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Identify opportunities for AI integration across government programmes and public service delivery sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, livelihoods, social welfare, and climate resilience.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Analyze government schemes, missions, and policy priorities to identify potential AI use cases and implementation pathways.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prepare policy briefs, research notes, presentations, stakeholder profiles, and strategic memos.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Support the development of concept notes, proposals, and thought leadership pieces on AI and public policy.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Monitor developments in AI safety, evaluation frameworks, foundation models, digital public infrastructure, and multilingual AI.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Conduct stakeholder mapping and background research for engagements with government, academia, industry, and civil society.</span></li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Eligibility</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Currently pursuing a degree in Public Policy, Law, Economics, or a related field.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong interest in AI, technology policy, governance, and public affairs.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise and actionable insights.</span></li> </ul> <h3><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Application Process</strong></span></h3> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Please submit the following:</span></p> <ol> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Resume/CV (maximum two pages)</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">A published writing sample (policy brief, article, research paper, blog, or similar)</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">A brief note (300–500 words) on the topic:"<em>What is the future of AI safety evaluation in India</em>?"</span></li> </ol> <h3><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Important Instructions</strong></span></h3> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Applications generated primarily using ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, or any other generative AI tools will be rejected.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">We are looking for original thinking, independent analysis, and authentic writing.
