Position Description
As a Senior QA Engineer at iBusiness.ai, you will play a key role in helping delivery teams build and release high-quality software with confidence.
This is a senior individual contributor role within the QA organization, suited to experienced QA professionals who operate with a high degree of independence, sound judgement, and strong quality expertise. You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Developers, and QA colleagues to identify quality risks, improve testing effectiveness, and support successful delivery outcomes.
You will contribute to planning, testing, quality discussions, and delivery activities across your supported product area while helping QA Managers deliver effective quality outcomes through informed recommendations, strong execution, and trusted quality expertise.
In addition to hands-on quality assurance activities, you will act as a mentor and trusted source of guidance for less experienced QA Engineers, helping strengthen capability and quality practices across the wider QA community.
This role is ideal for QA professionals who enjoy combining strong testing expertise with business understanding, collaborative problem-solving, mentoring, and practical quality leadership through influence rather than authority.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Design, execute, and maintain effective testing approaches across supported product areas
- Perform functional, exploratory, regression, integration, and risk-based testing activities
- Identify, investigate, document, and communicate defects, quality risks, and delivery concerns
- Contribute to planning activities through informed recommendations relating to testing scope, effort, risks, and dependencies
- Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Developers, and QA colleagues to support effective quality outcomes
- Support release readiness activities through effective testing, risk identification, and communication of quality concerns
- Apply sound judgement when balancing quality considerations, delivery priorities, and business context
- Participate actively in delivery ceremonies, planning activities, and quality discussions
- Mentor and support less experienced QA Engineers through guidance, knowledge sharing, and practical coaching
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen testing effectiveness, delivery collaboration, and quality outcomes
- Develop strong understanding of supported products, customer needs, business processes, and operational risks
- Act as a trusted quality practitioner within delivery teams, helping stakeholders make informed quality decisions
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with 3+ years in a Senior QA position
- Strong experience working within Agile software delivery environments
- Experience working within cross-functional teams alongside Product Managers, Developers, and QA professionals
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, QA principles, and risk-based testing approaches
- Experience designing and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Strong exploratory testing, defect investigation, and root cause analysis skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities effectively
- Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced QA Engineers
- Ability to challenge assumptions and raise quality concerns constructively within delivery teams
- Strong written and spoken English
Nice to Haves
- Experience within financial services, lending, banking, or other regulated industries
- Experience testing APIs and service-oriented architectures
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments and tooling (AWS preferred)
- Experience using tools such as Atlassian Suite (Confluence/Jira), Git, Hoppscotch or similar QA tooling
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- Exposure to automation testing approaches and collaboration with Automation QA teams
- Experience working within globally distributed remote teams
