QC Engineer - Construction
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Quality Control Engineer to implement and maintain on-site quality systems and help ensure works meet contractual, regulatory, and company standards. You will work closely with site management, subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams to drive consistent quality, manage non-conformances, and support continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.
Essential Job Functions
Implement and maintain quality plans, ITPs, checklists and records to meet contract, specification and standards.
Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc inspections of materials, workmanship and installations across all trades; record findings and issue NCRs as required.
Plan and witness critical inspections and tests with site teams and subcontractors, ensuring hold points and audit evidence are retained.
Coordinate material approvals, review supplier documentation, and verify traceability and compliance before installation.
Lead root cause analysis and CAPA for defects, monitor effectiveness, and close actions promptly.
Maintain clear, auditable quality documentation for reports, NCRs, punch lists, progress reports and handover.
Support site inductions and toolbox talks on quality requirements and acceptance criteria; promote continuous improvement.
Support quality audits, client inspections and third-party certification; implement actions and track closure.
Partner with design, planning and site management to build quality into programme planning and minimise rework and defects.
Required Skills & Experience
3–7 years in quality control/assurance on construction projects, with exposure to structural, MEP and finishing trades.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, inspections, materials testing, ISO 9001, and local building regulations.
Experience creating inspection/test plans, issuing non-conformance reports, and managing corrective actions to closure.
Clear report writing skills, strong attention to detail, and factual evidence for clients and stakeholders.
Proficient with quality/document control systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); project management/ERP is a plus.
Clear communicator who can work with subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams; highly organised and able to prioritise on site.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Formal quality qualification or training (e.g. NEBOSH, CQI/IRCA ISO 9001 lead auditor, or equivalent) is desirable.
Experience with materials testing procedures and familiarity with laboratory reporting is preferred.
Minimum Requirement
Typically requires a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience on construction projects, demonstrating practical QC/QA delivery, strong documentation practices and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve compliant project outcomes.
