QC Inspector - Welding | Qatar

We are hiring an experienced QC Inspector - Welding for a reputed company in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspection of welding and fabrication activities as per approved drawings, WPS, ITP, project specifications, and international standards.

• Conduct stage-wise inspection for piping, structural steel, tanks, and fabrication works.

• Verify fit-up, edge preparation, welding parameters, consumables, and welder qualifications before welding activities.

• Carry out visual inspection of weld joints and ensure compliance with quality requirements.

• Coordinate and witness NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT with third-party inspectors and client representatives.

• Review and maintain QA/QC documentation including welding records, inspection reports, test reports, and material traceability documents.

• Ensure implementation of approved welding procedures and quality standards at site/workshop.

• Monitor repair and rework activities and ensure corrective actions are properly implemented.

• Coordinate with production, engineering, QA/QC team, and client inspectors for smooth execution of inspection activities.

• Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, safety standards, and applicable international codes.

Required Skills

1. Strong experience in:

   • Steel Fabrication

   • Piping Works

   • Storage Tanks

   • Structural Steel

2. Good knowledge of welding processes, materials, fabrication standards, and inspection techniques.

3. Familiar with international codes and standards such as ASME, API, AWS, and ISO.

4. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, isometrics, P&ID, and welding symbols.

5. Experience in preparing and reviewing QA/QC documentation and inspection reports.

6. GCC experience preferred

Mandatory Certification

• CSWIP 3.1 (Piping / Pipeline / Mechanical)

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Strong communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to work under project deadlines and client inspection requirements.

• Experience in oil & gas, fabrication yard, refinery, petrochemical, or EPC projects will be an advantage.
