<p style="line-height: 1.5;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>LABORATORY SUPERVISOR</strong></span></p>
<p style="line-height: 1.5;">The primary purpose of this position is to supervise QC personnel and administer basic functions of the branch QC laboratory. The position will act as a backup to perform required quality control analysis of incoming, manufactured, and outgoing material. The person will ensure that all QA/QC and Safety and Regulatory practices and procedures are followed. The position is located at Laurens, South Carolina, and primarily manufactures industrial chemicals and defoamers.</p>
<p style="line-height: 1.5;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Primary responsibilities include:</strong></em></span></p>
<ul>
<li>Supervisor QC personnel, including but not limited to training, scheduling, coaching, and counseling employees; communicating job expectations; planning monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Manage the maintenance of ISO 9001 certification at the Manufacturing Plant.</li>
<li>Monitor attendance and ensure compliance with the attendance policy guidelines.</li>
<li>Prioritize and direct daily laboratory activities to help meet production requirements.</li>
<li>Determine acceptance, production adjustments, or rejection of all finished good material.</li>
<li>Determine and ensure instrument maintenance, calibrations, quality control checks, solution preparations and standardization.</li>
<li>Complete assignments as directed by the Director of Quality.</li>
<li>Backup QC chemists when needed for analysis of incoming, manufactured, and outgoing material and for instrument maintenance, calibration, quality control checks, solution preparation, and standardization.</li>
<li>Actively work with production and QC chemists to improve efficiency.</li>
<li>Direct and/or prepare laboratory monthly reports and metrics to include a minimum of analysis performed, COA’s, and cost savings measurements.</li>
<li>Lead in addressing customer product complaints and returns through investigation of product-related quality complaints.</li>
<li>Perform root cause analysis, initiate corrective actions and verification processes for investigations and audit findings.</li>
<li>Provide operations with technical assistance in the production of new products and in the resolution of quality problems encountered during daily production, as warranted.</li>
<li>Lead customer audits and regulatory inspections.</li>
<li>Ensure appropriate coverage of laboratory.</li>
<li>Ensure completion of all daily tasks and requests from outside the department</li>
<li>Work in accordance with cGMPs, regulatory requirements and ensure proper laboratory safety and housekeeping practices.</li>

<p style="line-height: 1.5;"><strong>REPORTING STRUCTURE</strong></p>

<li>This position reports to the Director of Quality.</li>

<p style="line-height: 1.5;"><strong>PREFERRED EXPERIENCE</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent and minimum 3 years laboratory experience.</li>
<li>Must have good presentation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate in English.</li>
<li>Understanding of cGMP, FDA, USP, SQF, and/or AIB is preferred.</li>
<li>Must possess strong people, organizational skills, be self-motivated and initiate continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Must possess and thorough understanding of laboratory safety requirements.</li>
<li>Strong laboratory analytical practices and instrument/method trouble shooting skills.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong><u>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to sit, stand, and climb stairs for up to 12 hours per day.</li>
<li>Ability to work in plant where temperatures range from 10 degrees up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally.</li>
<li>Able to perform tasks requiring good manual dexterity.</li>
<li>Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.</li>
<li>Able to wear a hairnet and beard net, if applicable, with a hard hat.</li>
<li>Able to wear goggles for up to 12 hours per day.</li>
<li>No exposed jewelry in body piercings when in a GMP production area.</li>
<li>Due to safety concerns, the wearing of contact lenses is prohibited.</li>
</ul>

<li>Support effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.</li>
