Position Summary
South Bay Solutions is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector II to support and uphold our manufacturing quality standards. This role requires a higher level of technical expertise, independence, and problem-solving ability. The Quality Inspector II is responsible for inspecting incoming, in-process, and finished products, developing and troubleshooting inspection programs, and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with customer and industry requirements.

Work Schedule
- Swing Shift (Mon - Fri : 2:30PM - 11:05PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products
- Interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Independently set up and operate inspection equipment including CMMs and optical systems
- Develop, validate, and troubleshoot CMM programs
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections per SBS and customer requirements
- Analyze inspection results and identify trends or nonconformances
- Generate and maintain inspection reports, NCRs, and quality documentation in ERP systems
- Ensure product identification and full traceability
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Train and mentor junior inspectors as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T), including interpretation and application
- Proficient in datum structures, geometric tolerancing, and blueprint reading
- Ability to apply advanced math concepts including geometry and trigonometry in inspection
- Hands-on experience with:
- Keyence Video CMM
- Optical comparator with Quadra-Chek 200
- Manual Mitutoyo CMM
- Zeiss CMM systems
- Ability to independently create, optimize, and troubleshoot CMM programs
- Experience validating parts using multiple inspection methods
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to trend and interpret quality data and KPIs
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in mechanical inspection or manufacturing quality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel for data analysis, reporting, and tracking)
