Astranis designs, builds, and operates its satellites out of its 153,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Northern California, USA.</p></div><h4>Radiation Effects Engineer</h4>
<p>As a Radiation Effects Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the electrical survivability of our spacecraft by analyzing, designing, and testing robust electronic systems. This position requires hands-on experience in circuit design, component validation, and mitigating radiation effects for harsh aerospace environments.</p>
<h4><strong>Role</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Support the electrical architecture and design of fault-tolerant systems optimized for radiation environments</li>
<li>Actively participate in core electrical design, schematic capture, PCB layout reviews, hardware bring-up, and laboratory testing</li>
<li>Coordinate and execute electrical radiation testing campaigns to upscreen COTS and automotive-grade components</li>
<li>Develop fault-tolerant systems & operations into the spacecraft by working closely with the rest of the team</li>
<li>Assist in recruiting and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong>Requirements</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), or a related technical field (Physics, Nuclear Engineering) with a focus on electronics</li>
<li>A passion for hardware development, including hands-on electrical circuit design, prototyping, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment</li>
<li>Strong foundation in electrical design principles, including component selection, power distribution, and signal integrity</li>
<li>Direct experience analyzing, designing, and testing electronic circuits for radiation effects</li>
<li>Experience in testing and debugging complex analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)</li>
<li>Experience engineering fault-tolerant, high-reliability electrical hardware architectures</li>
<li>US Citizenship or Green Card</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong>Bonus</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Experience testing electrical designs for space or high-radiation environments</li>
<li>Advanced understanding of semiconductor physics and radiation interactions</li>
<li>Experience configuring electrical test setups and running measurement campaigns at radiation test facilities</li>
<li>Proficiency with ECAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g., Altium Designer) and familiarity with MCAD (Solidworks)</li>

<div>Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources.
