Astranis designs, builds, and operates its satellites out of its 153,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Northern California, USA.</p></div><h4><strong>Senior Radiation Test Engineer</strong><strong><br></strong></h4> <p>As our Senior Radiation Test Engineer you will be responsible for characterization of radiation environments for our missions and testing analysis for our spacecraft. This position requires hands-on experience validating parts for radiation environments specific to aerospace.</p> <h4><strong>Role</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Design fault tolerant electrical systems for operating in a radiation environment</li> <li>Simulate and model the GTO and GEO radiation environments</li> <li>Coordinate and run radiation testing campaigns to upscreen components</li> <li>Work with the structures team to determine the proper shielding levels across the spacecraft</li> <li>Integrate these systems into the spacecraft by working closely with the rest of the team</li> <li>Support other electrical design, bringup, and test activities</li> <li>Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent technical field</li> <li>A passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development</li> <li>Experience with the Geostationary radiation environment (TID, SEE, DDD)</li> <li>Experience with designing for and testing for radiation effects</li> <li>Experience in testing analog and digital circuits</li> <li>Experience with high reliability systems</li> <li>US Citizenship or Green Card</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Bonus</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Electromechanical design experience</li> <li>Experience running tests at radiation labs</li> <li>Experience with designing dosimeter circuits</li> <li>ECAD + MCAD Experience (Altium, Solidworks)</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><div><strong>What we offer:&nbsp;</strong></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div> <p data-path-to-node="3">Base pay is just one component of Astranis’s total rewards package.
