About the role
The Role
This position, located in Chicago, Il., works closely with Asset Management, Property Management, Finance, and Procurement to lead technical project execution and drive operational excellence across a portfolio of assets. The role oversees third-party resources and internal construction coordinators to ensure successful delivery of capital projects aligned with investment objectives.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five (5) Construction Coordinators.
- Establish performance expectations and conduct evaluations.
- Serve as escalation point for complex issues.
Project & Construction Management
- Oversee all phases of TI, Make Ready, and Building Improvement CapEx projects.
- Ensure delivery of landlord and tenant obligations.
- Develop, approve and manage Scopes of Work.
- Manage schedules, budgets, approvals and closeouts.
- Recommend solutions for unbudgeted capital needs.
Financial Planning & Cost Management
- Partner on capital planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Provide pricing for lease deals.
- Monitor TI allowances and usage.
- Drive cost savings and value engineering.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Oversee vendor procurement and contracts.
- Ensure compliance and performance standards.
Asset & Operational Oversight
- Complete annual inspections and maintain system inventories.
- Support acquisitions and dispositions.
Compliance, Risk & ESG
- Ensure regulatory and policy compliance.
- Lead ESG tracking and reporting.
- Maintain safety standards.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Deliver monthly reporting and KPIs.
- Provide subject matter expertise.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of project/construction management experience.
- 10+ years of leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of building systems.
- Experience with TI, Make Ready and CapEx projects and procurement.

Compensation Data
The annual base compensation range for this role sits between: $160,000 - $175,000
This range is representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Mapletree. Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including previous work experience, specific industry experience, relevant skills, training and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. In addition to salary and a competitive employee benefits package, candidates may also be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
