The <strong>Regional Special Education Coordinator</strong> is crucial to their success.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The <strong>Regional Special Education Coordinator</strong>, in collaboration with building leadership and school-based intervention teams, is responsible for special education compliance, implementation, and oversight. Daily tasks may include the following:</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Coach provide feedback, and support Intervention Specialists.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Lead weekly intervention team meetings at each building within the <strong>Columbus</strong> area. </span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Maintain special education master rosters and the timelines and tasks associated with them.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Provide technical guidance and support related to IDEA and its implementation.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Provide bi-weekly <strong>on-site</strong> support at each of the assigned buildings.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Attend relevant trainings offered by county agencies and the department of education to stay current on regulations and best practices</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Develop and facilitate professional development and training on varied Special Education topics</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Coordinate with school team to understand volume and needs of newly enrolling Special Education students, gather existing documentation, and assist with caseload management.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Review all Special Education documents, including IEPs, for compliance and quality and provide feedback and coaching to Intervention Specialists prior to IEP meeting</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Assist Intervention Specialists with complex parent communications as needed</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Monitor Intervention Specialist compliance with timelines and data collection</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Observe Intervention Specialists during instructional time with students and provide feedback (if requested)</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Communicate and collaborate with district administration on all things Special Education.</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Collaborate with EMIS Coordinator/State Reporting Manager to ensure districts submit information into state and federal systems</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Liaison between the school and school sponsor and state for issues involving special education</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Provide support before, during, and after on-site and virtual audits</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Provide technical assistance and training for required items from ODE Special Education Profile</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Complete annual compliance documents from school sponsors and ODE with collaboration with school administration</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Serve as a resource to school leaders for special education staffing issues (communication/facilitation with vendors)</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Liaison/facilitator between schools and related service providers</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Participates in trainings and meetings held by the ACCEL Special Education team</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Perform other duties as assigned by Special Education Senior Director.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">About You: </span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Current Ohio Special Education Teacher </span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Minimum 3 years of experience providing special education services</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products</span></li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality</span></li>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The annual starting salary for this position is between $68,000 – $74,000<strong> </strong>annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. </span></p>
