Rental Technician

Love skiing and snowboarding, and keen to share that passion with our guests? Join Central Snowsports as a Rental Technician and be part of delivering high-quality gear setups and exceptional guest experiences in Hakuba this winter.

As a key part of the rental team, you’ll be responsible for boot fitting, helping guests with accessories and outerwear, safely setting up skis and snowboards, and ensuring every guest leaves ready for their best possible time on snow. You’ll also share your knowledge of equipment, snow conditions, and the resort throughout the day. You’ll be part of a fun, fast-paced rental team known for great service and strong technical knowledge, helping guests get the most out of their time in the mountains.

Location: Hakuba, Japan
Contract Term: 1st December 2026 - mid/late March 2027. Dates TBC.
Remuneration: ¥1700+ per hour.
Role type: casual, up to 36 hours per week in peak season.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Selecting and safely setting up skis and snowboards for guests.
• Providing expert boot fitting and rental equipment support.
• Advising guests on gear selection, snow conditions, and resort info.
• Operating EasyRent/POS systems accurately and efficiently.
• Maintaining high standards of equipment safety and condition.
• Restocking and managing rental equipment flow throughout the day.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and professional store environment.
• Assisting guests with retail purchases.
• Handling guest enquiries in person and over the phone.

Who We're Looking For:

• Confident, friendly, and highly customer-focused communicators.
• Strong attention to detail and equipment knowledge.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
• Team player who enjoys upskilling and learning more.
• Passionate about skiing or snowboarding and mountain culture.
• Previous rental or retail experience is a bonus, but not required.

Requirements:

• Valid work rights for Japan.
• Japanese Drivers Licence or International Drivers Permit.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Japanese language skills are an advantage but not necessary.
