The candidate may reside in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, or Ventura but will primarily work at our Montecito job site, requiring daily travel.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>What You Will Do</strong></span></p> <p>Project Oversight:</p> <ul> <li>Provide on-site leadership and oversight for water, wastewater, and/or recycled water facilities.</li> <li>Ensure that construction activities align with project plans, specifications, and design intent.</li> </ul> <p>Quality Assurance:</p> <ul> <li>Develop, implement, and enforce quality assurance measures to enforce specification requirements for workmanship and materials.</li> <li>Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any deviations from contract documents.</li> <li>Engage with specialty subconsultants to perform special and material inspections.</li> </ul> <p>Client Interaction:</p> <ul> <li>Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.</li> <li>Collaborate with clients to understand their goals, expectations, and feedback throughout the project lifecycle.</li> </ul> <p>Team Collaboration:</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and other team members to coordinate and execute project objectives.</li> <li>Foster a collaborative and positive working environment among project teams including owners, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.</li> </ul> <p>Budget and Schedule Management:</p> <ul> <li>Review and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion and adherence to deadlines.</li> <li>Assist in the management of project budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.</li> <li>Review contractor submitted monthly payment applications for completeness and accuracy.</li> <li>Verify materials on hand and incorporated into the work.</li> <li>Prepare estimates of cost, review change order requests, and facilitate cost effective resolution of construction or field issues.</li> </ul> <p>Risk Management:</p> <ul> <li>Identify potential risks and challenges during the construction process and develop proactive strategies for mitigation.</li> <li>Address issues promptly to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets.</li> </ul> <p>Documentation and Reporting:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate and detailed project records, including daily reports, progress photos, and change orders.</li> <li>Generate regular reports summarizing project status, challenges, and resolutions.</li> <li>Manage the flow of information between the construction contractor and the engineer to assure timely responses to submittals and requests.</li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>What You Bring</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>A passion for water, with an emphasis on creating multi-benefit solutions for communities and the environment.</li> <li>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.</li> <li>Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certifications are highly desirable.</li> <li>Five (5) years of professional experience in engineering and/or construction management, with a focus on water, wastewater, and/or recycled water facilities.</li> <li>Strong understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure design, construction methods, and industry best practices.</li> <li>Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Proficient with MS Office, Primavera P6, and other project management software and tools.</li> <li>This position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to meet company and insurance provider requirements for driving eligibility.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Pay Range: </strong>This is a full-time exempt position.
