With real products in the field, we’re scaling faster than the grid can, transforming power from a bottleneck into a competitive advantage for the companies building the future.</p></div><p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY</strong></p> <p>In ON.energy we are looking for a Risk and Insurance Manager to be responsible for owning and coordinating the company's corporate insurance program, claims coordination, contractual risk compliance, covenant monitoring, and cross-functional risk information management. This is a hands-on operational role designed to ensure the organization is adequately protected, well-documented, and properly informed on risk-related matters. The role reports to the Head of Corporate Finance and is expected to grow in scope over time as the organization's risk management function matures.</p> <p><strong>CORE RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <p><em>The following responsibilities represent the immediate mandate of this role. These are areas the Risk Manager is expected to own and drive from day one.</em></p> <p><strong>Corporate Insurance Program</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own and manage the company's full insurance portfolio, including General Liability, Property, D&amp;O, E&amp;O, Cyber, Workers' Compensation, Auto, Umbrella/Excess, and specialty lines.</li> <li>Maintain a centralized system tracking all policies, coverage limits, deductibles, exclusions, premium schedules, and expiration/maturity dates — ensuring no lapse in coverage at any time.</li> <li>Lead the annual renewal process: gather underwriting data, engage brokers, negotiate terms and premiums, and finalize placements.</li> <li>Review policy terms and conditions to verify adequacy of coverage relative to the company's risk profile; identify and address coverage gaps or overlaps as the business evolves.</li> <li>Manage relationships with insurance brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Claims Coordination &amp; Documentation</strong></p> <ul> <li>Coordinate the end-to-end management of insurance claims, working closely with Legal, Operations, HR, and external adjusters.</li> <li>Maintain detailed claims records and track outcomes to identify trends and inform future coverage decisions.</li> <li>Escalate high-severity claims to senior leadership and work with legal counsel on complex or disputed matters, subrogation opportunities, and litigation support.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Contractual Risk Review, Insurance Compliance &amp; Covenant Monitoring</strong></p> <ul> <li>Review contracts and vendor agreements for risk transfer provisions, indemnification clauses, and insurance requirements.</li> <li>Ensure third-party vendors and contractors maintain adequate insurance coverage and provide certificates of insurance as required.</li> <li>Ensure the company's own coverage satisfies contractual requirements imposed by clients, landlords, lenders, and other counterparties.</li> <li>Monitor and track corporate covenant compliance obligations related to insurance, risk, and contractual requirements — maintaining a covenant calendar and coordinating with Finance and Legal to ensure timely fulfillment and reporting.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Cross-Functional Risk Coordination</strong></p> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary point of coordination for risk-related information across Finance, Legal, HR, Development, and Operations.</li> <li>Prepare periodic management-level risk reports summarizing insurance program status, open claims, renewal timelines, and key risk exposures.</li> <li>Monitor regulatory and legislative changes that could impact the company's insurance obligations or risk profile.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS &amp; REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <p><strong>Education</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (required).</li> <li>Professional certifications preferred: ARM (Associate in Risk Management), CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter), or CRM (Certified Risk Manager).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 4–6 years of experience in insurance management, risk operations, or a closely related field.</li> <li>Demonstrated hands-on experience managing commercial insurance programs across multiple lines of coverage.</li> <li>Proven track record of owning insurance renewals, managing broker relationships, and coordinating claims.</li> <li>Experience reviewing contracts for insurance and indemnification requirements.</li> <li>Experience working across departments (Legal, Finance, Operations, HR) in a coordination role.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills &amp; Competencies</strong></p> <ul> <li>Exceptional organizational skills — able to track multiple policies, renewals, deadlines, and claims simultaneously.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail in reviewing policy language, contract terms, and compliance requirements.</li> <li>Clear written and verbal communication skills;
