Job Title: Return-to-Work (RTW) Assistant
Location: In-Office, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Lunch Break: 30 minutes, taken between 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Position Overview:
The RTW Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Return-to-Work (RTW) process for the organization. This position is a full-time, in-office role that requires focus on detailed data entry, communication with external providers, and consistent documentation. The job involves substantial typing and data management, and is a sedentary position that requires prolonged periods of sitting at a workstation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communication with Clinics and Doctors’ Offices: Reach out to clinics and doctors to obtain and verify work status information.
- Data Entry and Software Management: Accurately input and update information into NPA’s RTW Pro software, including:
- TTD rates
- Doctor appointments
- Work statuses
- Claim details (e.g., names, dates of birth, SSN, work status)
- Claim Research: Conduct claim research using TPA software to ensure up-to-date information.
- Processing Work Statuses and Reports of Injuries: Process work statuses and reports of injury (ROIs) as assigned. Some injury descriptions may be graphic.
- RTW Coverage: Provide coverage for RTW specialists as needed. This includes communicating with claimants of varying temperaments via phone and email.
- Training and Support: Assist with the training of new employees and provide guidance on protocols.
- Documentation and Protocol Maintenance: Maintain and update protocol documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Special Projects: Support additional projects as assigned by management.
Miscellaneous Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls, transfer to appropriate departments or individuals.
- Open and/or close the office as needed.
- Perform light office tasks, such as making coffee and managing dishwasher duties.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of shared office spaces.
Work Environment:
This is a sedentary, office-based role that requires extensive typing and data entry throughout the day. The position primarily involves sitting at a desk and using a computer to perform key tasks. Applicants should be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting and typing, up to eight hours.
