Runner - Soho House Austin

<p><strong>The role…</strong></p> <p>At Soho House a <strong>Runner</strong> is responsible for a range of tasks including preparing tables, serving orders, explaining meals, and facilitating collaboration between kitchen and servers. A Runner also assists the servers in providing quality hand plated service to all guests who come to Soho House. As a Food Runner, your goal will be to provide our members and guests with outstanding customer service and actively help to improve their overall dining experience.</p> <p>A successful Runner thrives in a fast-paced environment, can problem solve in high-pressure situations and remain calm, approachable and professional.</p> <p><strong>Main Duties</strong></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for following Steps of Service set by Soho House &amp; Co that includes but is not limited to; Refill water glasses and coffee cups, clear finished dishes, crumb the table, replenish all table supplies, expedite food orders</li> <li>Accommodate special requests from guests or alternative solution that better suites business needs or advise management to further assess and provide options</li> <li>Thrive in high-volume and elevated service environment. Ensure the delivery of a seamless service by thinking quickly on your feet, managing / anticipating guest and member needs and ensure servers, Executive Chef and General Manager are supported.</li> <li>Ensure food orders are finished being plated and coursed out correctly before appropriately serving to members/guests</li> <li>Adhere to health and safety policy (allergy procedures) is followed as well as all Company processes, procedures, and standards and local, state, and federal law as applicable</li> <li>Work as one team with one goal; to serve members and guests their food and/or drink items in a timely manner and support the team by running items from expo and service bar that are outside of your section to</li> <li>Clean and stock server alley and expo area</li> <li>Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions who asked by members and/or guests</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Skills/Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in similar capacity</li> <li>Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain calm, through quickly and effectively problem solving under pressure</li> <li>Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service and respectful towards colleagues and guests</li> <li>Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School</li> <li>Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed</li> <li>Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously</li> <li>Tips certified and POS knowledge</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.</li> <li>Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.</li> <li>Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.</li> <li>Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.</li> <li>Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why work with us...</strong></p> <p>Soho House offers competitive compensation packages that feature global benefits and perks.
