Safety Manager - Industrial Manufacturing
The Safety Manager role is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees, contractors, and visitors by overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety programs and protocols. The Safety Manager will work closely with management and staff to promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Safety Program Development & Management
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures for all aspects of manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, industry standards, and company safety protocols.
Training & Education
- Design, coordinate, and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels, including new hires, to ensure understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
- Lead safety drills, emergency response training, and other proactive safety initiatives.
Incident Investigation & Reporting
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Compliance & Risk Management -
Monitor safety compliance across all areas of the plant, ensuring all workers adhere to safety regulations and practices
Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives to enhance worker engagement in safety activities and foster a proactive approach to safety management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional - CSP, Associate Safety Professional - ASP) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management within a heavy industrial manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful safety programs and reducing incident rates.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and develop corrective action plans.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
