This position ensures employees understand company safety policies, regulatory requirements, accident prevention practices, hazard recognition,&nbsp;and safe work procedures. The Safety Trainer works closely with management and employees to improve safety performance, reduce incidents, and strengthen the organization's safety culture while optimizing productivity.</p> <p><strong>This position is ideal for a safety professional with a strong background in commercial motor vehicle (CMV) operations who thrives on building programs from the ground up, coaching drivers, and using data to drive measurable results.</strong></p> <h3>Key Responsibilities</h3> <p><strong>Safety Program Management</strong></p> <p>Delivers weekly safety training topics for employees.</p> <ul> <li>Lead defensive driving and safe-driving training for new and current drivers, including pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspection coaching.</li> <li>Provide progressive, hands-on coaching for drivers using in-vehicle event data (VEDR) to reinforce safe habits and correct risky ones early.</li> <li>Ride along and observe drivers in the field, giving real-time, constructive feedback.</li> <li>Conduct new employee safety orientations.</li> <li>Delivers weekly safety trainings for all drivers.</li> <li>Train delivery employees on proper lifting, carrying, and material-handling techniques to prevent strains, sprains, and other injuries.</li> <li>Evaluate employee competency through testing, observations, and practical demonstrations.</li> <li>Assist in accident and incident investigations.</li> <li>Conduct workplace safety inspections.</li> <li>Promote daily safety awareness through one-on-one meetings along with group toolbox talks.</li> </ul> <h3>Qualifications</h3> <p><strong>Required</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 3–5 years of safety management experience in a trucking, last-mile delivery, or commercial transportation environment.</li> <li>Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, and Hours of Service rules.</li> <li>Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.</li> <li>Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.</li> <li>Basic knowledge of traffic laws/accident investigation processes.</li> <li>Strong presentation and public speaking skills.</li> <li>Excellent communication and coaching abilities.</li> <li>Ability to conduct field observations and safety assessments.</li> <li>Ability to influence employee behavior and promote a positive safety culture.</li> </ul> <h3>Compensation &amp; Benefits</h3> <p>We offer a competitive compensation package benchmarked to current market rates for Fleet Safety Managers in the Mid-Atlantic region.</p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><strong>Base Salary: $72,800 per year&nbsp;</strong></span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Weekly pay</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Paid time off and paid holidays</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Medical, dental, vision, accident, and life insurance options</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Free telemedicine</span></li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">401(k) retirement plan</span></li> </ul> <p>We operate with an uncompromising commitment to Safety, Integrity, Service, and Attendance in everything we do, and we are hiring immediately for a results-driven leader who is ready to take ownership and elevate our operation.</p> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><strong>Click "Apply" today to join our team and hit the road!</strong></span></p>
