ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Sales Engineer to help spearhead Power Factors’ continued growth in the wind, solar, and storage market. As a key team member, you will have the mandate to ensure a smooth client experience from top-of-funnel sales engagements.
The Solutions Architect is responsible for engaging with prospects and customers as technical advisor. The Solutions Architect knows our customers business intimately and understands the unique challenges and aspirations of each of them. The individual brings relevant experience
in the renewables industry, specifically in BESS, Solar PV and Wind asset management for utility scale. The Solutions Architect deeply understands digital tools that support IPPs, investors and other stakeholders managing renewable operational assets and often with a background within or involving contact with relevant IPPs.
The Solutions Architect is an entrepreneurial, cross-functional role that requires multiple skill sets and involves significant interaction and coordination with our prospects and customers and Power Factors’ internal sales, engineering, product, development, data science, and customer success teams globally.
The Solutions Architect plays a strategic role in sales planning and target achievement, facilitating complex technical engagements with our customers. The Solutions Architect guides our customers, as well as internal stakeholders like Product, Technology, and Customer Success, through a process of rigorous discovery to understand our customers’ needs, pain points, and objectives and then present them with the right solution that achieve those objectives and deliver the desired business value. Brings a consultative mindset and strong customer facing competencies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Presales Support:
o Assist the sales team in technical presentations, demos, proof-of-value and RFP responses.
o Aligns technical solutions with business objectives.
o Demonstrates strong sales acumen and the ability to support deals independently.
o Evaluate the feasibility of client requests during the sales process and provide insights on possible solution pathways.
o Work closely with clients to understand their unique business requirements, processes, and technical needs.
o Defines the Solution Scope for each prospect to integrate Power Factors applications with client systems, ensuring smooth data flow and optimal performance.
o Collaborate with Account Executives and technical teams to develop customized proposals for enterprise clients.
o Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on solution deliverables and expectations.
· Technical Leadership:
o Leads technical discussions, presentations, and negotiations with clients.
o Manages large or complex projects and serves as a primary technical point of contact.
o Act as a technical liaison between the client and our product and engineering teams.
o Provide training and support to clients during the implementation process of proofs of value.
o Collect feedback from clients to inform ongoing product development.
o Attend industry events and trade shows and serve as a Power Factors technical brand ambassador
o Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
o Stay updated with the latest trends in renewable energy, SaaS architectures, and related technologies.
· Customer first mindset:
o Partner with the customer stakeholders to ensure smooth and satisfactory buying experience by providing a remarkable customer experience.
o Focus on detail when tailoring the customer facing materials to each prospect.
o Develop customer facing documentation addressed to both non-technical (not IT people) and technical audiences.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Specifically, we are looking for someone with the following creative skillset:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field such as Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in the renewable energy industry, including technical product management, project management, business process development, software development, and/or IoT and networking solutions.
- Strong understanding of the utility-scale renewable energy sector, with hands-on experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Solar PV, and Wind asset management.
- Experience working with software platforms and digital solutions that support Independent Power Producers (IPPs), investors, asset owners, asset managers, and other stakeholders responsible for managing operational renewable energy assets.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the renewable energy ecosystem and proven experience collaborating with utilities, EPCs, third-party O&M providers, IPPs, asset owners, asset managers, and hardware and software vendors.
- Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and engage effectively with both technical and business audiences.
- Consultative mindset with the ability to understand customer challenges, identify opportunities, and translate business needs into practical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly analyze complex situations, manage competing priorities, and drive effective decision-making and problem resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and levels within an organization. Additional languages are considered an asset.
- Process-oriented with a growth mindset and the ability to contribute both independently and as a project coordinator, facilitating collaboration across multiple stakeholders while escalating issues when appropriate.
- Proven track record of delivering high performance and results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
