About the role
We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer specialising in water and wastewater treatment solutions. You will combine technical expertise with commercial acumen to support business development, technical sales, and customer success across municipal, industrial, and commercial markets. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, project delivery, and service teams to turn customer needs into practical, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with customers to understand treatment requirements, operational constraints, regulatory drivers, and commercial objectives.
Develop technically robust proposals, including treatment technology selection, process flow diagrams, and scope descriptions.
Prepare and present technical demonstrations, system specifications, and commercial quotations.
Provide pre-sales and tender application engineering support, including P&ID review, performance estimates, mass balance/flow calculations, and equipment sizing.
Work with project engineering and operations teams to ensure proposals are deliverable, accurately costed, and aligned with manufacturing and installation capabilities.
Lead technical meetings, site surveys, and feasibility assessments; produce site visit reports and recommendations.
Respond to technical queries during tender evaluations and support contract negotiations with clear technical and lifecycle cost justification.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 3–6 years’ experience in technical sales, application engineering, or process engineering within the water and/or wastewater treatment industry.
Commercial awareness with the ability to translate technical solutions into value and total cost of ownership arguments.
Competent with engineering tools (e.g. AutoCAD, MS Excel, process simulation) and comfortable with ERP/CRM systems.
