About the role

We are looking for a strategic, result-focused, entrepreneurial Sales Manager who will lead and realize our growth ambition in the German speaking market of Power Grids and support the Energy Transition.

 

In our organization, the business development activities are concentrated in the Sales Management department, whereas management and delivery of our projects is organized in functional departments with teams based in Germany, The Netherlands, and Sweden. 

 

The Sales Management department

The Sales Management department consists of 15 Sales Managers that act as thought leaders in the market and set the strategic direction for the Power Grids Service Area. The Sales Managers monitor market developments, analyze new business opportunities, increase our market visibility, drive lead generation, lead project bids, and sponsor projects (Quality Control). Together they cover the entire service portfolio of Power Grids and each Sales Manager has a number of) focus areas, for example, Transmission and Distribution Technology for Grid Expansion, a key priority to realize the Energy Transition with our clients.

 

The Sales Manager

As a Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in defining and operationalizing our Power Grids strategy and realizing our market ambitions. You will work closely with the other Sales Managers and with the Key Account Management organization (amongst others by being part of Key Account teams), to monitor and anticipate market developments, to enable a coordinated market approach, maintain customer focus and coordinate commercial opportunities. Utilizing market intelligence, you will set the strategic direction for Power Grids services in your focus area in close alignment with the operational delivery team(s) you are connected to ensuring our service continues to be future-fit. As the Sales Manager focusing on Transmission and Distribution Technology for Grid Expansion, you will work closely with the consultants and engineering specialists of the Power Equipment, Overhead Lines, Cable and Power System Planning team.

 

Aiming to grow Order Intake (efficiently), you will increase visibility in the market (and internally) and extend our C-level relations in the Transmissions and Distribution Technology in the German speaking markets (Germany, Switzerland and Austria, with a strong focus on Germany). You are the go-to person when it comes to your area (externally, but also internally). You will act as a thought leader within your area, deliver keynote speeches at conferences, write articles and be highly visible on relevant social media, etc.

 

A Sales Manager generates leads and acts as the opportunity owner (leading the bid/no bid decision, opportunity development and closing of the deals) for medium to large opportunities. You will act as a Project Sponsor for the projects where you were the opportunity owner. You will support ‘your’ operational delivery team(s) with setting the priorities during periods of scarcity of resources, in keeping an overview of the complete sales-pipe development and defining actions, including contributing to the development of the Annual Operating Plan. You will also contribute as a subject matter expert in projects and in doing so, coach consultants and engineers within the teams.
