About the role
HJ Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Trach Nurse to support a student in a school setting. This position is ideal for a nurse with pediatric experience who is confident in tracheostomy care and is passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment for children with special medical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care and monitoring for a student with a tracheostomy during the school day.
Administer suctioning, emergency care, and medication management as needed.
Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
Document all care provided in compliance with school and healthcare regulations.
Maintain infection control standards and respond calmly in emergency situations
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) license (state-specific).
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; pediatric or school-based nursing preferred.
Hands-on experience with tracheostomy care required.
CPR and First Aid certification required.
Strong communication skills, teamwork, and professionalism.
