Job description:
Science Instructor (STEM Discovery Program)
Athletes Global Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Science Instructor to lead our STEM Discovery summer program for students ages 6-12. This hands-on program introduces students to science, engineering, technology, innovation, and problem-solving through exciting projects and interactive learning experiences.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with youth, can manage a classroom independently, and has experience teaching or facilitating STEM-related activities.
Program Details
- Location: District Heights Parks & Recreation, District Heights, MD
- Dates: June 23, 2026 - July 30, 2026
- Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays
- Ages 6-9: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Ages 10-12: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging STEM lessons for students - take home invention project
- Engineering build kits and technology exploration activities
- Facilitate hands-on science experiments and engineering challenges
- Guide students through invention and technology exploration activities
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Showcase materials
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain student engagement
- Communicate professionally with program staff and site personnel
- Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes
- STEM Discovery Journal, Certificates and recognition awards
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, or leading youth programs
- Background in Science, STEM, Engineering, Education, Technology, Robotics, or related fields
- Ability to explain concepts in a fun and age-appropriate manner
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
Requirements
- Must pass a background check
- Experience teaching in a classroom
- Reliable transportation
