ScienceLogic Engineer

<p><strong>**ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED**</strong></p> <p>This position will require supporting the SL1 platform, to include all upgrades and maintenance; enhancement of system features and configurations; and responding to customer requests for custom monitoring needs.<strong><br><br>RESPONSIBLITIES:<br></strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to maintain and support a healthy infrastructure for a highly visible 24x7x365 monitoring environment</li> <li>Performs continual maintenance of the SL1 platform and provides advanced solutions for continual and highly complex security, backup and redundancy problems</li> <li>Performs administrative tasks and application support for the SL1 platform and create and maintain monitoring and notification rules</li> <li>Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools</li> <li>Deliver SL1 dashboards, create custom reports on results of SL1 monitoring and provide timely problem resolution for SL1 system components and related custom scripts</li> <li>Prepare and maintain all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects</li> <li>Manage application access control to restrict access to systems, applications, and data to authorized users only</li> <li>Manage customer satisfaction through effectively communicating and managing customer expectations (internal and external customers)</li> <li>Ability to communicate how to leverage technology to create business value and become more effective and efficient</li> <li>Work with project managers and peers to understand and solve challenging technical problems, produce effort estimates, and improve system functionality, reliability and reduce costs</li> <li>Work closely with a Business Technology peers and management emphasizing collaboration and joint effort to ensure that the needs and expectations of organizational stake holders, business partners, external customers, and third-party organizations are met and/or exceeded</li> <li>Provides training and guidance to less experienced Engineers</li> </ul> <p><strong><br>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<br></strong></p> <ul> <li>BA/BS (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of relevant experience</li> <li>5+ proven years of experience installing, configuring, and daily administration of <strong>ScienceLogic SL1 at version 12.x or higher required</strong></li> <li>5+ Years utilizing ServiceNow Ticketing system</li> <li>Experience with user training and writing documentation</li> <li>Must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:<br></strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience using the Python scripting engine to automate tasks with SL1</li> <li>Familiarity with Service Now Integration, PowerFlow, End to End Monitoring and CMDB</li> <li>Experience with major Microsoft technologies including PC and server operating systems, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, and Office</li> <li>Knowledge of server virtualization technologies, preferably VMware and/or Microsoft technologies</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Additional Information</strong></p> <ul> <li>All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.</li> <li>Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position.
