As the dispensary moves toward full operations, schedules will expand and additional hours will become available. <br>Officers who perform well during this phase are well-positioned for expanded schedules.</p> <p>Your primary function is access control and ID verification. <br>You are the first point of contact for every person who walks through the door. <br>Your presence sets the tone: professional, observant, and consistent.</p> <hr> <h2>What You Will Do</h2> <ul> <li>Verify valid government-issued ID for every person entering the dispensary, without exception</li> <li>Control access to the retail floor and ensure only authorized individuals enter</li> <li>Monitor the entrance and lobby area throughout your shift</li> <li>Maintain a visible, professional presence that deters unauthorized activity</li> <li>Document access incidents, visitor refusals, and any notable observations in a written log</li> <li>Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, staff, and management</li> <li>Respond calmly to any access disputes or customer concerns at the door</li> </ul> <hr> <h2>What This Role Looks Like</h2> <ul> <li>Shifts are currently 5 hours during the soft opening phase</li> <li>Schedule will grow as the dispensary moves to full operations <ul> <li style="font-style: italic;"><em>An alternative work schedule is being considered for this position</em></li> </ul> </li> <li>This is an unarmed, stationary post at the front entrance</li> <li>You will work alongside dispensary staff and report to your Armorous supervisor</li> </ul> <hr> <h2>Working in a Dispensary Environment</h2> <p>Retail dispensaries operate under strict regulatory requirements. <br>ID verification is not a courtesy, it is a compliance requirement. <br>Every officer on this assignment must apply the same standard, every time, with every person.</p> <p>You will encounter a wide range of customers. <br>Some will be frustrated if access is denied. The ability to hold the line professionally, without escalating tension, is a core requirement of this role. <br>If you are consistent, calm, and clear, you will excel here.</p> <hr> <h2>Required Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Valid BSIS Security Guard Registration (California)</li> <li>Must be over 21 years of age</li> <li>Current BSIS compliance, including 8-hour initial training certificate and 32-hour continuing education certificate</li> <li>Availability to work assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled</li> <li>Strong verbal communication and de-escalation skills</li> <li>Professional demeanor and appearance</li> <li>Ability to stand and remain alert for the duration of your shift</li> <li>Demonstrated reliability: on time, in uniform, and ready to work</li> </ul> <hr> <h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li>Minimum 1 year of prior security experience</li> <li>Prior experience in retail, dispensary, or high-volume public-facing environments</li> <li>Familiarity with ID verification standards and access control procedures</li> <li>Experience in loss prevention is a plus</li> </ul> <hr> <h2>Schedule</h2> <p>Shifts are currently 5 hours during the soft opening phase. <br>Schedule will evolve as operations ramp up.
