Job Summary

Security officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of a company's employees, visitors, and associated property. Security officers are tasked with patrolling a designated area, responding to safety and security threats, and establishing a security presence.

Duties and Responsibility  

Main Duties include, but are not limited to and may be amended from time

to time:

• Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to and may be amended from time to time.
• Ensure the safety and security of passengers, tenants and their employees, personnel, and guest at the GTCC.
• Direct vehicular traffic to the appropriate parking areas.
• Secure / prevent access to restricted areas by unauthorized persons.
• Report any abnormalities to the Security Manager of the GTCC.
• Prevent animals from accessing the GTCC’s site.
• Assist cruise passengers with general matters to the extent possible.
• Report all suspicious behavior / prevent vandals from defacing and damaging property.
• Ensure compliance of tenants in accordance with their Policy Manuals regarding delivery of merchandise and removal of waste generated.
• Interact with local Law Enforcement and Emergency personnel services as directed by the Security Manager.
• Conform to the policies and procedures established by Grand Turk Cruise Center.
• Provide appropriate customer service and represent the Nation of Turks and Caicos in a manner which upholds the highest standards.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Security Manager.
• Any other business-related tasks as directed or requested by the Employer from time to time.

Language Requirements

• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with employees and guests
• Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers and co-workers.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.
