About the role
Job Summary
The Night Shift Security Officer is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the safety and security of the Bank’s employees, assets, facilities, information, and operations during non-banking hours. The position ensures that all security controls, physical security measures, and emergency response procedures remain effective throughout the night shift.
The Night Shift Security Officer shall conduct security monitoring, inspections, investigations, incident response, and coordination with security guards, law enforcement agencies, and emergency responders to protect the Bank against security threats, criminal activities, fraud, unauthorized access, and operational disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
Security Monitoring and Surveillance
Monitor all branches, offices, ATMs, and critical facilities during the night shift.
Review CCTV feeds, alarm notifications, access control logs, and other security monitoring systems.
Investigate unusual activities, security alerts, and suspicious incidents.
Escalate significant security incidents to the Chief Security Officer and Management as required.
Physical Security Operations
Conduct periodic security inspections of Bank facilities, branches, and critical areas.
Ensure that all entrances, exits, vaults, restricted areas, and security systems remain secured after banking hours.
Verify compliance with opening and closing procedures.
Monitor the activities and deployment of security guards.
Incident Response and Investigation
Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations occurring during the night shift.
Conduct preliminary investigations involving theft, burglary, robbery attempts, vandalism, unauthorized access, and other security incidents.
Preserve evidence and document findings.
Prepare incident reports and security assessments.
Access Control Management
Monitor after-hours access requests.
Verify authorization of employees, contractors, and visitors entering Bank premises during non-banking hours.
Ensure compliance with access control procedures and security protocols.
Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management
Coordinate emergency response activities during fires, natural disasters, bomb threats, civil disturbances, power outages, and other emergencies.
Coordinate with law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and local authorities when necessary.
Ensure emergency contact lists and response procedures remain readily available.
Security Systems Administration
Verify operational status of:
CCTV Systems
Alarm Systems
Access Control Systems
Security Lighting
Emergency Communication Systems
Report and coordinate corrective action for any security system malfunction.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare Daily Security Activity Reports (DSAR).
Maintain security logs and incident records.
Document security findings, unusual occurrences, and corrective actions taken during the shift.
Endorse significant incidents and unresolved matters to the incoming shift and Chief Security Officer.
Fraud Prevention Support
Monitor potential fraud indicators and suspicious transactions requiring after-hours review.
Support investigation activities and evidence gathering when requested.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Security Management, Law Enforcement, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
At least three (3) years of experience in security operations, law enforcement, military service, corporate security, or banking security.
Experience in CCTV monitoring, incident response, and investigations is preferred.
