Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN, helping them engage with classroom activities and ensuring they have access to the curriculum.
  • Assisting the class teacher in differentiating learning materials and adapting teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
  • Helping students overcome learning challenges, providing emotional and academic support to enhance their confidence and independence.
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress, working closely with the SENCo and other staff members to contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Encouraging positive behavior and fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable and supported in their learning journey.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting children with additional learning needs is beneficial, but not essential.
  • A passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive approach to working in a classroom setting.
  • A clear DBS check
  • Legal right to work within the UK
