Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with learning disabilities, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
- Help adapt lesson materials to suit the individual needs of students, including simplifying content and creating engaging, hands-on activities.
- Assist students in building their confidence, independence, and social skills.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to support diverse learning styles.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes the well-being and development of all students.
- Provide positive encouragement and reinforcement to help students overcome challenges and celebrate successes.
- Assist with classroom management and general classroom duties, contributing to a well-organized and productive learning space.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Prior experience working with children or young people with learning disabilities or SEN is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Attributes: Empathy, patience, and enthusiasm for helping children succeed.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with teaching strategies for children with learning disabilities, such as breaking tasks into manageable steps or using visual aids, is an advantage.
