1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Lewisham
Join a welcoming primary school in Lewisham as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. In this role, you will work closely with a child with autism, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential social skills. Full training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a child with autism, helping them engage with the curriculum and navigate daily school routines.
- Assist with developing social skills and fostering positive interactions with peers and staff.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to meet the child's needs.
- Monitor the child's progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Support the child's emotional well-being, ensuring they feel safe and supported in the school environment.
- Participate in relevant training sessions to enhance your understanding of autism and SEN strategies.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism, is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to working with children who require additional support.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN and helping them reach their full potential.
- A DBS check is required.
