About the role

CHAP Group Limited are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead site operations, supervise all personnel, and drive performance across projects. You will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.


Main tasks

  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, implementing improvements where required.
  • Oversee site inductions and daily briefings, ensuring all records are accurately maintained.
  • Lead day-to-day operational decision-making to ensure works are coordinated and efficient.
  • Liaise with architects and engineers to manage drawings, specifications, and technical queries (TQs).
  • Supervise all site personnel and subcontractors, ensuring clear direction, productivity, and high performance.
  • Manage labour requirements, including subcontractor call-offs and internal resourcing to meet programme demands.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site diaries to support project records and protect against disputes.
  • Identify training and development needs and liaise with internal teams to ensure delivery.
  • Manage and enforce quality standards through company QA procedures, stopping works where required.
  • Monitor contract programmes and develop 2–4 week look-ahead schedules, forecasting plant, labour, and materials.
  • Ensure timely material take-offs and submission of requisitions to achieve best value.
  • Produce and manage TQs and information required schedules to support programme delivery.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, recording defects on Procore and managing corrective actions.
  • Produce and manage snagging lists, ensuring timely completion in line with programme requirements.
  • Review and manage dayworks, challenging where necessary and implementing contra charges where applicable.
  • Ensure all project documentation is accurately recorded and filed.
  • Maintain compliance with SMSTS requirements and CHAP management systems and industry standards.


Qualifications & Competencies

Essential

  • CITB SMSTS certification.
  • Valid CSCS CardFull UK driving licence.
  • First Aid certificationProven experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary construction projects.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
  • IT literate, including Microsoft Office.
  • Confidence to challenge on quality, health & safety, and cost where required.


Desirable

  • Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 4 in Construction Management (or working towards).
  • Extensive site management/project supervision experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage operational challenges.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry best practice.


This role is expected to commence in July/August 2026.
