About the role
Are you an experienced ski and snowboard workshop technician who loves working behind the scenes? Join Central Snowsports as a Ski & Snowboard Workshop Technician and help keep our entire rental fleet and customer gear performing at its best.
This is a hands-on, detail-focused role where you’ll be responsible for tuning, repairing, and maintaining skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, and equipment across our operation in Hakuba.
Location: Hakuba, Japan
Contract Term: 1st December 2026 - mid/late March 2027. Dates TBC.
Remuneration: ¥1700+ per hour.
Role type: casual, up to 36 hours per week in peak season.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Maintaining and tuning rental skis and snowboards (waxing, edging, grinding, repairs).
- Performing ski and snowboard mounting, remounting, and binding adjustments.
- Repairing boots, bindings, poles, helmets, and other equipment.
- Conducting quality and safety checks on all rental equipment.
- Supporting full workshop services for customer equipment.
- Liaising with Store Leads and Rental Technicians on daily equipment needs.
- Managing workshop workflow and prioritising urgent repairs.
- Ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for guest use.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
Who We're Looking For:
- Experienced ski/snowboard workshop technician .
- Strong technical knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Confident working independently in a fast-paced workshop.
- Strong communication skills and team collaboration mindset.
- Able to maintain high safety standards at all times.
Requirements:
- Valid work rights for Japan.
- Japanese Drivers Licence or International Drivers Permit.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Japanese language skills are an advantage but not necessary.
- Previous ski/snowboard workshop experience (essential).
