About the role
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The selected candidate will be responsible for efficient procurement and management of the slab procurement activities to achieve the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert. This position works with the Finance, Commercial, and Planning departments to bring in the right material to support our customer needs while reducing our costs. On-time delivery, compliance, and inventory management are key performance indicators for slab procurement.
The Basics:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial/Manufacturing/Metallurgical Engineering or experience equivalent
- SAP system knowledge
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
- Minimum of 2 years’ supply chain or inventory management experience
The Extras:
- MES system experience a plus
- Power BI knowledge and/or experience
- Experience using the Microsoft Excel Analysis ToolPak

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Ensure consistent supply to maximize customer satisfaction while minimizing cost
- Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the procurement of necessary materials
- Determine purchase requirement based on inventory and demand
- Calculate and maintain price for delivered materials
- Work with Commercial, Planning, and Quality related to inventory plan
- Ensure supplier compliance and risk management practices against the contracts
- Develop procurement improvement project activities with other departments
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply, quality and compliance.
