Social Expert

Responsibilities

• Establishing a system for receiving and addressing complaints from affected communities regarding project impacts.
• Designing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize negative social impacts, such as community development programs, skills training initiatives, and environmental protection measures.
• Tracking the social impacts of the project throughout construction, documenting key findings, and reporting to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with national laws, human rights policies, and social sustainability standards.
• Providing training to project staff on social safeguards practices and community engagement techniques.
• Ensuring that the project adheres to relevant social and environmental regulations and standards set by government agencies and international funding institutions.
• Prepare and submit social performance reports for regulatory authorities, funding agencies, and internal management.
• Conduct periodic social audits and impact evaluations to assess project effectiveness.
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in social risk management strategies.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Sociology or any other related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in social impact management within the construction, infrastructure, or civil engineering sectors.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and grievance redress mechanisms.

• Proficiency in social risk assessment tools and methodologies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in diverse and remote locations with multi-stakeholder teams.
