In this critical role, you will build infrastructure for backend services. You will develop common libraries, design microservice architectures, and establish best practices.</p> <p><br><strong>Responsibilities include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Architect, design, and develop a complex cloud application based on a microservices architecture.</li> <li>Gather requirements and design common software infrastructure to support multiple teams.</li> <li>Develop core backend services.</li> <li>Build common libraries primarily in Java, and occasionally in Node.js or Go, used across many microservices.</li> <li>Build and maintain our API Gateway, written in TypeScript, using GraphQL.</li> <li>Improve developer productivity by automating repetitive tasks and optimizing build times.</li> <li>Research and develop proof of concepts, and adopt new technologies.</li> <li>Own, integrate, and implement solutions to enhance application resiliency, observability, and performance.</li> <li>Write detailed technical documentation for everything you develop.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of server-side development experience with Java and Spring Boot. Experience with TypeScript and Go is a plus.</li> <li>Proven ability to take ownership of large projects from requirements gathering through to production deployment.</li> <li>Excellent skills in technical writing and documentation.</li> <li>Experience with both NoSQL and relational databases. Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis and MongoDB is preferred.</li> <li>Experience developing microservices in a cloud environment.</li> <li>Proficiency with build tools, such as Gradle, Maven.</li> <li>Proficiency with CI tools, such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions.</li> <li>Experience with Kubernetes and Helm.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a recognized university.</li> </ul>
