Sr. Software Engineer

<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>The Sr Software Engineer position will code, test, and document software solutions and perform tests to validate the code.&nbsp; This role will write more progressively complex code and work to independently solve problems and fix technical issues.&nbsp; This role will be in lead capacity with other developers through required feature updates, code management, and requirement implementation. The ideal candidate will have a desire to grow into a Lead Software Engineer role.</p> <p><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, code, test, and document software solutions that are high performing and intuitive, adhering to F&amp;G’s software development methodologies, frameworks, standards, and security requirements</li> <li>Perform unit, regression, security, and load tests to validate the readiness of internally and externally developed code for production as required</li> <li>Design and develop complex integrations.</li> <li>Perform impact analysis for interface/system changes affecting the applications environment</li> <li>Develop estimates for project and maintenance work</li> <li>Design integrations for custom or 3rd-party solutions</li> <li>Assist with the design of architecture and solutions</li> <li>Translate undefined business problems and defined business objectives and goals into functional solutions</li> <li>Design with assistance within architectural standards</li> <li>Lead technical aspects of one or more applications within the function</li> <li>Technical ownership of one or more business facing technologies to deliver business outcomes</li> <li>Interact with clients and stakeholders</li> <li>Support and interact with various IT teams and LOBs on integration efforts</li> </ul> <p><strong>Experience &amp; Education Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree (preferred emphasis in Computer Science or MIS) or equivalent combination of education and experience&nbsp;</li> <li>4-7 years of hands-on technical experience in designing and building applications and interfaces</li> <li>Experience in developing Angular, .NET development, and Azure cloud solutions</li> <li>Ability to design and implement a normalized relational database schema</li> <li>Experience with various SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)</li> <li>Significant experience working with various integration tools</li> <li>Significant experience working with cloud &nbsp;</li> <li>Expert understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)</li> <li>Azure or AWS cloud development tools (functions, Lambdas)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience supporting integrations</li> <li>Experience with insurance industry</li> <li>Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power Automate and Power Apps, is highly desired</li> <li>Accord XML</li> <li>Rest API</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Self-starter with a high energy level and willingness to take on responsibility</li> <li>Proven verbal, written communication, and conflict resolution skills</li> <li>Excellent ability to think analytically and solve problems</li> <li>Ability to work in a dynamic environment</li> <li>Ability to create technical documentation</li> <li>Ability to develop good relationships with vendors and their technical resources</li> <li>Ability to create strong, collaborative relationships with business partners</li> <li>Ability to lead and mentor others</li> <li>Ability to maintain a technical vision and roadmap</li> <li>Ability to act as a project lead within an initiative including task identification, design, testing, implementation, tracking, reporting, and status updates to management</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned</li> <li>Regular and punctual attendance</li> <li>Some travel may be required (less than 10%)</li> </ul> <p>#LI-Remote #LI-MB1</p><div class="content-conclusion"><h3><strong>Additional Information </strong></h3> <p><strong>Work Environments</strong></p> <p>F&amp;G believes in an employee-centric flexible environment, which is why we offer the ability for in-office, hybrid and remote work arrangements.
