Senior Software Engineer

<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to work in our Go, Python, and Postgres stack. You’ll work on cloud based APIs and databases that power our capital products. The successful candidate will have production experience with a language like Go, Java, Python, or similar, and experience with a relational database like PostgreSQL or MySQL. Fintech experience is not required.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Your key responsibilities will include:</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Designing, developing, and deploying scalable and reliable backend services, primarily using Go and Python.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Architecting, optimizing, and maintaining relational database tables in PostgreSQL.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Leading technical projects from concept to launch, ensuring high quality and reliability.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers and other engineers, to define requirements and implement solutions.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Conducting thorough code reviews and championing engineering best practices.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">We are looking for a motivated, curious Senior Software Engineer with the following required qualifications:</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">5-7+ years of experience in backend software development.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Production experience with a language like Go, Java, Python, or similar.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience with a relational database like PostgreSQL or MySQL.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience building and operating scalable APIs and services.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure).</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Working knowledge of coding tools such as GitHub, VSCode, or similar.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Good written and verbal communication skills.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">In general, you will be successful at Pipe if:</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">You want to join a remote-first startup and make an impact.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">You want to be part of a team that holds each other to high standards.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">You have a strong technical foundation, and are passionate about using your skills to help our customers succeed.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">You take end-to-end ownership of your work and enjoy working with different functions across the company.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Compensation and Benefits</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 10pt;">We are a fully remote company and we believe in taking care of our employees. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Pipe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.</span></p>
