Software Engineer

This role will support our online care platform requiring work in various capacities and adaptation to different work arrangements based on the needs set by the business. We expect employees to work from our Charlotte, NC/Fort Mill, SC, Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.</p> <p>Minneapolis: 11000 Optum Cir&nbsp;Eden Prairie, MN 55344</p> <h2><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of software components in production environments.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop clean, efficient, maintainable, and scalable code following industry best practices and RVO Health’s standards.</li> <li>Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize software performance to deliver seamless and reliable user experience.</li> <li>Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of software components, including unit, integration, and performance testing.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth integration of software components.</li> <li>Participate actively in code reviews to uphold high code quality, enforce coding standards, and share knowledge within the team.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Document software architecture, design decisions, implementation details, and operational procedures to support maintainability.</li> <li>Stay informed on emerging technologies, frameworks, and trends relevant to healthcare software development and apply them appropriately.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers and associates, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></h2> <p><strong>Required:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, a related field; or equivalent experience.</li> <li>2+ years of experience in software engineering roles.</li> <li>Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, Java, C#, C++, etc.).</li> <li>Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.</li> <li>Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.</li> <li>Experience designing and building backend services and REST APIs utilizing Node.js &amp; Typescript.</li> <li>Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, or similar).</li> <li>Experience with software testing, debugging, and performance optimization.</li> <li>Experience with version control systems and software development tools is preferred.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.</li> <li>Attention to detail and a focus on code quality and documentation.</li> <li>Experience using AI for code generation.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience building and operating services on Azure (or another major cloud provider).</li> <li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform.</li> <li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) integrated into a real development workflow.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Pursuant to various state Fair Pay Acts, below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company.
