About the role
<p>The Control Plane Team is responsible for developing the orchestration and horizontal autoscaling of the Lucenia core search platform. This system layer is designed and developed to run in cloud-native, self-hosted, or a hybrid of both environments. </p>
<p>In this role, you will be working on the team responsible for developing the Kubernetes based orchestration and auto scaling framework of the Lucene Search data plane and packaging it as a product that runs self hosted, cloud-native, or in hybrid modes. You will ensure compatibility and integration with other vendor offerings such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or RedHat OpenShift. You will also be responsible for building the services that power and provide Lucenia’s own SaaS platform. You will work across other functions, including engineering, quality control, performance benchmarking, support, content marketing, and executive leadership to build and market new features, capabilities, and offerings.</p>
<h2><strong>What you will do</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Work with a distributed team of experienced engineers focused on delivering self-hosted, cloud-native, and/or SaaS serverless offerings</li>
<li>Develop container-based workflows with efficient autoscale in connected and disconnected environments.</li>
<li>Design and develop a collection of processes that coordinate and manage the cluster’s state and scheduling decisions across the data plane. </li>
<li>Implement Kubernetes operators/controllers and helm charts with deployment responsibilities in production environments</li>
<li>Collaborate across engineering, quality control, and leadership teams to execute on product deliverables.</li>
<li>Invent ideas, collaborate with others, and own solutions from inception to deployment</li>
<li>Mentor new team members</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>What you bring </strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of the Go programming language </li>
<li>Deep understanding of distributed systems and cloud native technologies such as kubernetes, docker, and OCI container registries and systems level integration for serverless autoscaling </li>
<li>Experience working with cloud vendors such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Red Hat OpenShift and/or Oracle Cloud</li>
<li>Familiar with vendor and open source object storage technologies and their role in stateful and stateless system orchestration</li>
<li>Strong understanding of cost benefit trade offs during design and implementation phases.</li>
<li>Familiar with SAML, LDAP, Active Directory, Single Sign On identity management technologies (e.g., Okta Auth0) and integration with cloud native deployments.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills</li>
<li>Ability to communicate well with individuals and groups to accomplish a common set of goals</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>Bonus </strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Experience working with OpenSearch and/or Elastic Stack</li>
<li>Strong scripting skills (e.g., groovy, gradle, python, javascript) </li>
