Every line of code contributes to the digital payments revolution, combining innovation, collaboration, and real impact to make our work truly Out <strong>Of The Ordinary</strong>.</p> <p>We are looking for a <strong>Senior Software Engineer</strong> who thrives in high-pressure environments, excels in distributed systems design, and takes full accountability for the reliability of systems that handle millions of transactions daily.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>As an EBANX developer, you will be responsible for:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>System Ownership:</strong> Take end-to-end accountability for complex features and core system components, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and resilient.</li> <li><strong>High-Throughput Engineering:</strong> Architect and maintain Java-based systems with <strong>+99.9% availability</strong>, optimizing for high throughput and low latency.</li> <li><strong>Technical Leadership:</strong> Drive the evolution of our engineering culture by leading deep code reviews, mentoring mid-level and junior developers, and setting high standards for documentation and testing.</li> <li><strong>Strategic Integration:</strong> Collaborate with CloudOps, Product, Fraud, and Regulatory teams to translate complex Central Bank requirements into robust technical solutions.</li> <li><strong>Incident Management &amp; Reliability:</strong> Lead troubleshooting for critical issues, applying observability and performance tuning to prevent recurrence.</li> <li><strong>Innovation for Efficiency:</strong> Develop internal tools and frameworks that improve the entire team's productivity and system observability.<br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>What is indispensable for the position?</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Advanced Expertise in Java Stack:</strong> Deep knowledge of the Java ecosystem, including advanced Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and JVM tuning.</li> <li><strong>Architectural Mastery:</strong> Proven experience with Design Patterns, SOLID principles, and Distributed Systems architecture.</li> <li><strong>Database Proficiency:</strong> Advanced SQL skills and experience optimizing relational databases for high-concurrency environments.</li> <li><strong>API Design:</strong> Extensive experience designing and maintaining mission-critical REST APIs, with a focus on system resilience.</li> <li><strong>Cloud &amp; DevOps Culture:</strong> Solid experience with Cloud Computing (AWS), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.</li> <li><strong>Observability:</strong> Proficiency in monitoring tools (DataDog, Prometheus, etc) to diagnose bottlenecks in real-time.</li> <li><strong>Senior Mindset:</strong> The ability to solve ambiguous problems, make technical trade-offs under pressure, and defend technical decisions to stakeholders.</li> <li><strong>Global Communication:</strong> Professional English proficiency (written and spoken) to collaborate with global stakeholders and document technical specifications for international clients.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What would be a plus?</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Financial Domain Expertise:</strong> Deep understanding of the <strong>Pix/SPI</strong> ecosystem and Brazilian Central Bank (BACEN) regulations<br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>What are we going to offer so you can do an amazing job?</strong></p> <ul> <li>Sustainable work pace: 40 hours a week of an accelerated but not frenetic rhythm - no marathons or sleepless nights; The focus is on working smarter.</li> <li>The best tools money can buy so you can be productive in your work; (MacBook, JetBrains licenses, Slack, GitHub, DataDog, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Tableau, amongst others)</li> <li>Deep and fast code reviews for any of your pull requests - You will also do a lot of them :)</li> <li>Constant discussions about our practices and systems.
