By reducing the expense of litigation industry-wide, we aim to improve access to high-quality representation and promote the alignment of legal outcomes with merit.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>We’re looking for a Staff Engineer who will be a key member of a new Systems team at Syllo that will own Platforms, Frameworks, Tools, Patterns, and Architecture. This person will not only contribute directly to technical design and implementation but also foster a collaborative, high-performing environment where engineers can grow, learn, and thrive.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide technical leadership and mentorship to members of the Platforms team, supporting their professional growth and helping them achieve their potential.</li> <li>Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud-based infrastructure using Kubernetes, Pub/Sub, and other relevant technologies.</li> <li>Collaborate with our AI team to optimize data pipelines and integrate AI technologies to remove performance bottlenecks.&nbsp;</li> <li>Refactor existing systems to enhance scalability, including transforming stateful components into stateless ones, and applying extensive autoscaling and auto-repair mechanisms.&nbsp;</li> <li>Lead efforts on data ingestion and export processes, improving efficiency and reducing dependencies on legacy technologies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Drive platform reliability initiatives, including enhancing alerting, health checking, and incident management.&nbsp;</li> <li>Champion continuous improvement efforts, including cost control measures and technological upgrades.&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee the development of internal tools that streamline workflows and reduce duplication of effort in development environments.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensure the platform meets rigorous testing and security standards to maintain data integrity and security.&nbsp;</li> <li>Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure meeting SLA</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Qualifications&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Core software engineering skills, including proficiency in languages such as Python and Ruby.&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong system administration experience, including fluency with Linux, networking, and bash scripting.&nbsp;</li> <li>Proficiency with GCP.</li> <li>Proficiency with cloud tools and distributed systems, such as Kubernetes, Kafka, Postgres, and Elasticsearch, or equivalent technologies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated expertise in Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform.</li> <li>Ability to design and implement scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure.&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience addressing scaling challenges and resource contention in distributed systems.</li> <li>Engagement with the open-source community, including tool research, bug reporting, and code contribution.&nbsp;</li> <li>Expertise in cloud data security</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Salary Range ($190- $230K) plus health insurance and equity.&nbsp;</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">United States - Remote Pay Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$190,000</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$230,000 USD</span></div></div></div>
