Software Engineer, Tax Technology

We encourage professional development to ensure you bring innovative ideas to our products while satisfying your own intellectual curiosity.<br>The position will be part of the Tax system team, participating in development efforts in tax allocation, investor K1 schedules, legal entities’ tax returns and tax reporting.</p> <p><br>WHAT YOU’LL DO<br>You will work in the Tax Technology system team developing technical solutions supporting Point72’s tax systems and tax optimization data analytics. Specifically, you will:<br>• Contribute to the overall architecture and technical direction of the tax technology stack.<br>• Utilize best practices in software development, including technical documentation, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration<br>• Design and build new software applications and software enhancements and projects supporting tax application technology.<br>• Work closely with business stake holders to develop software solutions using test-driven and agile software development methodologies.<br>• Design cloud-based computing solutions to create scalable cloud native applications.<br>• Be responsible for system upgrades and features supporting resiliency and capacity improvements, automation and controls, and integration with internal and external vendors and services.<br>• Work with DevOps teams to resolve operational issues and leverage CI/CD platforms while following DevOps practices within the team and projects<br>• Continuously improve the platforms using the latest technologies and software development ideas.<br>• Develop close working relationships and collaborate with other technology teams to deliver cross-departmental initiatives.</p> <p>WHAT’S REQUIRED<br>• 5-8 years of professional software development experience with a focus on Java with Scala exposure.<br>• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns and frameworks<br>• Experience building applications with focus on user-friendly interface design, as well as back-end and database optimization.<br>• Design and implementation experience in building systems with large data volumes and scalability.<br>• SQL development, debugging experience with relational database.<br>• Experience with Node.js and building RESTful APIs.<br>· Experience with building micro services, Kubernetes based platforms, and AWS.<br>· Excellent verbal communication skills<br>· Strong problem solving and analytical skills.<br>· Commitment to the highest ethical standards<br><br></p> <p>WE TAKE CARE OF OUR PEOPLE<br>We invest in our people, their careers, their health, and their well-being.
