<p>As the Senior Software Engineer, Device Automation within the Device Automation, Build, and Quality Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the automated testing strategy and scaling the team. You’ll collaborate closely with design, development, and quality teams to plan, design, and implement robust automated testing systems that ensure the quality and reliability of our products. As a senior technical leader, you will be highly hands-on in your work, while mentoring and guiding other engineers. </p>

<h4><strong>What You Might Do</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Develop and lead the implementation of automation frameworks and testing strategies for device-level and user-facing functionality.</li>
<li>Drive initiatives to increase automation and improve code quality</li>
<li>Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering skill development and best practices in automation and quality engineering.</li>
<li>Collaborate cross-functionally with System Software, Automation, and Test teams to ensure integration and alignment of testing strategies.</li>
<li>Build and scale the automation engineering team through recruiting, onboarding, and team development.</li>
<li>Utilize AI tools for deterministic and non-deterministic testing approaches.</li>
<li>Design and implement reusable automated tests and tools that set the standard for the team, empowering other engineers to follow best practices.</li>
<li>Leverage a deep understanding of system logs and backend processes to diagnose and resolve complex issues during testing.</li>
<li>Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for build/release/test systems and CI/CD pipelines.</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong>Essential Qualifications</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).</li>
<li>10+ years of experience in automation engineering, with a strong focus on device-level automation (experience with consumer electronics is a strong plus).</li>
<li>Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring engineers or leading technical projects.</li>
<li>Hands-on experience working with OSx and Linux.</li>
<li>Strong proficiency in developing tools for test automation and writing test cases.</li>
<li>Deep understanding of automated testing for native Android applications.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Python or other object-oriented programming languages.</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Expertise in designing and implementing scalable build/release/test systems.</li>
<li>Familiarity with one or more continuous integration pipeline tools, such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional relationships.</li>
<li>Proven ability to balance hands-on technical work with team mentorship and leadership responsibilities.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Salary Range: $</strong>180,000 - $250,000</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>Compensation & Benefits (Full-Time Employees)<br></strong></p>
<p>The salary range for this role is listed above. Final salary offered is based upon multiple factors including individual job-related qualifications, education, experience, knowledge and skills.</p>
