Meade, MD<br><strong>Clearance Requirements:</strong> Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required<br><strong>Work Schedule:</strong> 5 days per week onsite<br><strong>Travel Requirements:</strong> None<br><strong>Experience:</strong> 14+ years</p> <h3>WHAT YOU'LL DO</h3> <p class="isSelectedEnd">We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and ongoing support of agile software development efforts focused on modernizing systems.</p> <p>This role requires applying advanced software engineering principles, theories, and concepts while contributing to the development of new approaches and solutions. The ideal candidate will tackle highly complex technical challenges, operate with significant autonomy, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members when needed.</p> <h3>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</h3> <h4>Software Development</h4> <ul data-spread="false"> <li>Design, develop, modify, and implement software applications using agile development methodologies.</li> <li>Write source code for new applications and enhance existing software solutions.</li> <li>Utilize both front-end and back-end technologies to develop complete software solutions.</li> <li>Support the modernization, maintenance, and enhancement of existing systems.</li> </ul> <h4>Engineering &amp; Technical Problem Solving</h4> <ul data-spread="false"> <li>Apply advanced software engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges.</li> <li>Develop innovative approaches and solutions to meet mission requirements.</li> <li>Contribute to software architecture, integration efforts, and application development activities.</li> <li>Collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions.</li> </ul> <h4>Team Collaboration &amp; Leadership</h4> <ul data-spread="false"> <li>Work closely with technical teams in a collaborative development environment.</li> <li>Provide guidance and mentorship to team members as needed.</li> <li>Exercise sound judgment in technical decision-making and problem resolution.</li> <li>Support both short-term and long-term development priorities.</li> </ul> <h3>QUALIFICATIONS</h3> <ul data-spread="false"> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 14+ years of software engineering experience; OR</li> <li>18+ years of software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.</li> <li>Experience with Java and JavaScript in a Linux environment.</li> <li>Experience writing source code for new applications and enhancing existing applications.</li> <li>Experience using front-end and back-end technologies to develop complete software solutions.</li> <li>Experience designing, modifying, developing, and implementing software applications using agile methodologies.</li> <li>Experience solving complex technical problems within collaborative, cross-functional teams.</li> <li>Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.</li> </ul> <h3>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</h3> <ul data-spread="false"> <li>Experience with Java libraries including MongoDB, Spring, and OSGi.</li> <li>Experience with Perl, Python, Lua, and NGINX.</li> <li>Experience with Git, SQL, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.</li> <li>Experience with web application development technologies such as AngularJS, Angular, React, Vue.js, Microsoft C#, or related technologies.</li> <li>Experience with API development, integration, client-side development, and server-side development.</li> <li>Familiarity with AWS tools and cloud-based development environments.</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and team-oriented environment while balancing competing priorities.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS</strong></h3> <p>At SIXGEN, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
