Position / Assignment Purpose:

A Software Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of software projects,  ensuring they are delivered on time, within resource budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and aligning project objectives with business goals.

  • Contributing to the car OEM or Tier1 RFI/RFQ technical answers in support of product marketing and the customer engineering team
  • Leading the software development schedule and effort estimation to support product marketing for design win
  • Coordinating and participating in customer support activities through the customer engineering team for customer questions, issues, and requirements related to the Software and monitoring the response progress through tools system
  • Managing and ensuring software release milestones conforming to quality gate criteria
  • Managing of software change requirements in technical solutions, schedules, resource plan estimations and implementing the release after approval.


Key Accountabilities / Statement of Work:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and featuring ramp up plan in collaboration with stakeholders. Driving and delivering the software deliverables to stakeholders
  • Team Leadership: Leading and motivating cross-functional teams, assigning tasks and ensuring accountability
  • Requirements & Scope Management: Collaborating with product managers and clients to clarify requirements and prioritize features. Managing scope creep through change control processes
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and resolving issues proactively
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serving as the primary point of contact, providing regular updates to product management, customer engineering, management, executives, and team members
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring deliverables meet quality gate standards and complying with organizational process requirements
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintaining detailed software related project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and post-mortem analyses.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in EE/CS or relevant engineering field. Masters is a plus
  • 6+ year working experience with 3+ years as a Project Manager in a complex multi-location environment
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software development, preferable in mobile telecommunication devices or automotive industries
  • Excellent people & collaboration skills is required
  • Proactive self-starter, able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Multi-tasking, able to work efficiently under high pressure
  • Systematic and logical thinker, quick action taker
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • PMP certificate


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge in MS project or Bigpicture (JIRA plug-in)
  • Knowledge in Qualcomm platform or MediaTek platform
