Your primary focus will be on the design, development, and maintenance of complex software systems, while also providing technical leadership and mentorship. You will be instrumental in building a product that serves our customers in innovative ways. This role requires not only extensive coding expertise but also a strong emphasis on system orchestration, the utilization of AI tools and integrations (such as RAG, agentic workflows, MCP), and aligning technical decisions with overarching business strategies.</p> <h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2> <p>The Senior Software Engineer is not merely a faster coder; they are accountable for the overall health of the codebase and the growth of the engineering team.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Code Quality &amp; Standards:</strong> Establish and uphold the "gold standard" for clean, maintainable, and well-documented code throughout the repository.</li> <li><strong>Architecture &amp; Design:</strong> Lead high-level design sessions, select appropriate architectural patterns (Microservices, Serverless, Event-driven), and ensure that systems are both scalable and secure.</li> <li><strong>Developer Enablement:</strong> Develop internal tools and "Golden Paths" that simplify the complexities of the underlying infrastructure for feature teams.</li> <li><strong>Technical Leadership:</strong> Mentor junior engineers, conduct thorough code reviews, and set the "gold standard" for clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the repository.</li> <li><strong>Project Ownership:</strong> Oversee features from requirement analysis through to deployment, which includes breaking down complex business objectives into manageable technical tasks.</li> <li><strong>Problem Solving:</strong> Address challenging issues by debugging production outages, optimizing performance bottlenecks, and resolving high-level logic problems.</li> <li><strong>Collaboration:</strong> Facilitate feature development by collaborating within and across teams, engaging with stakeholders such as Product Owners.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></h3> <h3><strong>Education:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.</li> <li>Preferred educational background from a highly selective, premier engineering institution with a focus on Computer Science fundamentals.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in software engineering.</li> <li>Ability to leverage knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns to develop software in a full-stack Java and web technology environment.</li> <li>Proven experience in building and scaling distributed systems, preferably within cloud-native environments.</li> <li>Experience in identifying bottlenecks and optimizing the performance of large codebases.</li> <li>Familiarity with AI/ML adoption and the integration of intelligent features into standard workflows.</li> <li>Experience leading technical initiatives or small project teams.</li> <li>Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Technical Skills:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>In-depth knowledge of Software Engineering, Algorithms, and Data Structures.</li> <li>Proficiency in at least one major programming language (Java, C++, or similar).</li> <li>Practical experience with container technologies (Docker), orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.</li> <li>Experience with performance monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus is preferred.</li> <li>Familiarity with AWS cloud platforms and modern database technologies is preferred.</li> <li>Experience utilizing AI tools and models like Amazon Q, Kiro, and Claude is preferred.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Soft Skills</strong></h3> <ul> <li><strong>Clear Communication:</strong> Ability to articulate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.</li> <li><strong>Strategic Thinking:</strong> Understanding the business context—focusing not just on developing "cool" technology but on creating the <em>right</em> technology for the customer.</li> <li><strong>Mentorship:</strong> A genuine commitment to elevating the skills of fellow engineers.</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><strong>Tools and Resources&nbsp;</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Training and Development: During onboarding, we focus on equipping new hires with the skills and knowledge for success through department-specific training.
