About the opportunity

We’re looking for a Solicitor to join our Banking and Financial Services team in Tāmaki Makaurau. This is a great opportunity to get stuck into a broad mix of banking work and build your career in a team that’s known for doing interesting, high quality work in this space.

You’ll be working closely with partners and senior lawyers from the outset, with real client contact early on. The work is varied and commercially focused, covering things like lending transactions, financing arrangements and regulatory matters, with exposure to a wide range of clients including banks, credit unions, investment funds and insurers.

It’s a supportive, down to earth team where people share knowledge and back each other. Our open plan, non hierarchical environment means you’ll get great visibility of how partners work day to day, and plenty of opportunities to learn.

 

About you

You’re admitted to practice in New Zealand and will have exposure to banking or financial services work, or you could be coming from a general corporate background and keen to specialise. Either way, you’re genuinely interested in this area and want to build your career in it.

You enjoy getting into the detail but also understand the bigger commercial picture. You’re comfortable drafting and reviewing documents, can work independently when needed, and use good judgement to come up with practical solutions.

You’re also someone who communicates clearly and enjoys being part of a team. You’re curious, open to learning and keen to keep developing your skills as you go.
