We are working to increase vehicle safety by developing seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels and you can be part of our team as Assistant / Deputy Manager – Supplier Quality.
In this role you will be responsible for managing and developing safety-critical plastics and painted parts suppliers. You will need to deliver zero-defect performance, drive supplier quality improvements, and ensure compliance with Autoliv standards through effective supplier engagement and strong quality systems.
Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards, your role will involve:
Manage serial production issues from suppliers of safety-critical plastics and painted parts
Drive zero-defect initiatives at supplier processes
Implement supplier-specific roadmaps within defined timelines
Approve engineering and process changes as per Autoliv procedures
Perform root cause analysis and ensure robust corrective actions using 8D methodology
Conduct supplier audits as per Autoliv, VDA, CQI, and OEM standards
Drive supplier development initiatives and cultural transformation
Conduct regular Gemba visits and supplier performance reviews
Execute PPAP approvals and manage annual re-validation activities
Ensure safe launch readiness for all supplier changes
Drive defect reduction, cost optimization, and process improvements
Implement Lean systems and Poka-Yoke at supplier locations
Ensure compliance with OEM requirements (MSIL, Honda, VW, Hyundai)
Lead VAVE and continuous improvement initiatives
Deploy global lessons learned across local suppliers
Train suppliers on quality tools, Lean methodologies, and system requirements
If you have/are:
Strong expertise in safety-critical plastics and painting/coating processes
Hands-on experience in PPAP, Change Management, and supplier quality systems
Advanced knowledge of quality tools (PFMEA, SPC, MSA)
IATF Internal Auditor certification (Six Sigma certification preferred)
Strong experience in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Excellent relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering (Tooling certification is an advantage)
12–15 years of relevant experience in supplier quality (plastics and painted parts)
Proficiency in English and Kannada (additional languages are a plus)
Willingness to travel extensively (~75%) across supplier locations
